Science Department

Ms. Amanda Colavito

Mrs. Colavito has been teaching science for the last nine years. After earning a B.A in Chemistry from the University of Northern Colorado, she began her teaching career in Parker Colorado. Four years later she returned to school and earned an M.A. in Teaching from Grand Canyon University.  After relocating from Colorado to Georgia in March of 2011, she is looking forward to being back in the classroom.  She will be teaching Physical Science and Chemistry in the 2011-2012 school year.

Ms. Heather Exum

Ms. Exum joined the Tech High team in 2011.  She graduated from the University of Georgia in science education and is also certified in special education.  She has taught in elementary all the way to high school.   Her classes include biology and AP biology.  She is also involved in starting up the Science Olympiad program this year.  She believes that every child can learn and wants them to reach their full potential.

Mrs. Mary Kuthuru

Mary Kuthuru joined Tech High in August 2008. She is a Science teacher and holds a Masters degree in Zoology from Osmania University, India. She has taught a wide range of high school courses like Zoology (College prep course), Medical Lab technician, Physical Sciences and Algebra. At present, she teaches Biology and Physical Science and is also involved in the Environmental Club at Tech High. Teaching is Ms. Kuthuru’s passion and she likes to work with students and help them to be successful in all aspects of their life.

Mr. Elliot Mork

Mr. Mork joined Tech High School in July 2011. He holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has experience working for NASA, the Air Force and NOAA as an engineer. Mr. Mork teaches Physics, Engineering I and Engineering II as well as mentoring the Robo Titans robotics team. He is excited about bringing professional work experience to the classroom and encouraging the next generation of scientists and engineers.
