Graduation Pathways
During freshman year, students become accustomed to the rigors of a high school schedule by completing most of their core classes, fulfilling their basic math, science, English and history requirements. After completing 9th grade, and if the student maintains certain academic requirements, we invite them to choose one of four graduation pathways:
- Engineering: Electrical, Chemical, Civil
- Communications: English, Journalism, Marketing
- Information Technology: Computer Science, Gaming, Networking, Music and TV Production
- Liberal Arts: History, Philosophy, Public Policy, Civics, Political Science
By taking elective courses in their sophomore, junior and senior years that are specific to a graduation pathway, students are exposed to career fields that they might not otherwise discover until later in life. By the time they are ready for college, your children already have a perspective into the subject matter they want to study and which college they'd like to attend. Students are exposed to guest speakers who are professionals in various fields to offer them career advice. We also advise students towards summer internships that offer real world experience in careers in-line with their graduation pathway.
It is an honor to be invited into one of Tech High's graduation pathways and students must maintain certain academic requirements to remain in it.
