Events
Social life is an integral part of high school. Although small Tech High School still attempts to bring some of these experiences to our school. From prom to an exciting talent show students are given an opportunity to have a social life even on a smaller scale.

Senior Cultural Trip
Tech High's Seniors embarked on the trip of a lifetime on November 2nd. Sponsored by Air Tran and the Harland Charitable Foundation who purchased all 26 round trip tickets to the Big Apple, the trip included campus tours of NYU and Columbia University, a Broadway Play, and sightseeing tours of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and Ground 0. And to take the cake, the students were invited to attend a live taping of Good Morning America on November 3rd.
We are forever grateful to our sponsors and to our students who represented Tech High beautifully.

Prom
For many students across the nation prom is a right of passage. Here at Tech High School Ms. Dix spearheads this festive event each year. From “Casino Royale” at Ft. McPherson to “A Midnight Masquerade” at the Marriot NW, Juniors and Seniors get to experience a different venue and theme every year. This makes the idea of prom even more exciting. It also exposes the students to different places around the city of Atlanta.
Senior Events
Senior Year is a time that should be remembered. Seniors are given the opportunity to take portraits here at the school and order novelties from a vendor. After paying senior fees students receive cap and gowns and diploma covers. In addition to receiving items students get to experience “Senior Week” which includes wacky dress down days, a senior only cookout, and a senior outing. There is also a senior class honors night and a visions ceremony all leading up to graduation.
Graduation
Tech High School’s Graduation ceremonies are held at the Ferst Center for the Arts, located in the heart of the Georgia Tech campus. The Ferst Center is a state-of-the-art facility, which features a proscenium stage, orchestra pit, and professional sound and lighting systems. The auditorium has 1, 155 seats, and has been host to such artists as Itzhak Perlman and Wynton Marsalis, as well the site for the 1992 Vice Presidential debate and the Secretaries of the Defense Roundtable. Past graduation ceremonies have featured Michael Thurmond, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Labor as keynote speaker, student vocal and orchestral performances, and student-produced photo presentations.
Talent Show
Tech High School’s Annual Talent Show is always an exciting part of our school year. Students compete in the areas of singing, dance, and poetry/spoken word. Students may also audition for the coveted “Emcee” position to showcase their comedic skills. Good academic standing is required for participation.
Homecoming
The Tech High Student Government Association (SGA) hosted the first annual Homecoming Dance in the Winter of 2009. Though Tech High does not have a football team, Homecoming marks the completion of the athletic season and provides an opportunity for students to enjoy a fun a safe social event.
