Tech High School is a public charter high school. Charter schools are public schools and operate on a budget primarily funded by local, state, and federal allotments. Charter schools have the flexibility to implement innovative curricula. Because Tech High is a public charter school, we are not allowed to have entrance criteria. Tech High School is a school of choice. As such, parents who choose Tech High are demonstrating their agreement with the school’s philosophy. Tech High’s founding charter agreement was negotiated between the Atlanta Board of Education and Tech High School. This contract outlines school operations and accountability measures. If you would like to review a copy of the charter, you can view the original charter petition online by clicking here .
At Tech High School we believe in a common sense approach to education based upon the premise that all students who work hard can learn at high levels. The school provides a caring and nurturing environment offering support and assistance when students struggle. The school is characterized by a hands-on approach to education where high academic standards are taught in an integrated approach through real-life examples and the effective use of technology. We believe that all students can be excellent if they are committed to their education. |
